Town Crier Announces Suicide, Then Does It

ISTANBUL, Turkey —
A town crier announced his suicide over the municipal public address system today and then plunged five floors to his death.
Ismet Seven, the 47-year-old crier of Rize port on the Black Sea, told citizens he could not live on his salary and had been refused a raise, Anatolian news agency reported.
