The FBI on Monday was investigating the killings of two Navajo police officers who were shot and pushed over a cliff in a burning car near a remote landing strip frequently used by Mexican drug smugglers.

Authorities disclosed few details about the shooting deaths of Roy Stanley, 27, and Andy Begay, 36, but they said the slayings may be drug-related. The bodies of the officers were found Saturday in the locked prisoner cage of a burned-out police car.
