AIDS Victims

There are those in our society who, as evidenced by repeated letters (Dec. 7), continually single out a family member or friend who contracted AIDS calling them “innocent victims.”

It is time we changed our thinking. All persons with AIDS are innocent victims whether they be youthful or elderly, gay or heterosexual, IV drug users or those who needed transfusions to save their lives.

This is a disease caused by a virus that can infect every one of us in turn under the right circumstances. Let us continue to educate and offer compassion those infected whoever they may be.
