Local News in Brief : Arrest in Bank Robbery
- Share via
An exploding package of dye led to the arrest of a bank robbery suspect Wednesday, a Lomita sheriff’s spokesman said.
Bryan M. Roger, 41, of Long Beach was detained after a deputy noticed a cloud of red smoke trailing from him as he walked away from the California First Bank shortly before noon.
He is believed to be the man who earlier told a bank teller that he had a gun and demanded money, Deputy Don Williams said. The teller handed over about $2,800 along with a concealed dye pack, Williams said.
Roger was charged with robbery. Bail was set at $25,000.
