Five Safely Wash Ashore; Spent 6 Days in Lifeboat

NEW ORLEANS — Five seamen washed ashore Monday on Trinidad after surviving six days adrift in a lifeboat in the Caribbean, the Coast Guard said. The men walked into a police station, saying they had been at sea since Dec. 8, when their New Orleans-based tugboat capsized, a Coast Guard spokesman said. They were reported in good condition.
