‘High Price of Health’
Your editorial “The High Price of Health” (Nov. 28) was very informative and timely.
All the present proposed health-care laws now before Congress are “Band-Aid” solutions to one of our nation’s greatest problems, lack of medical care for everyone. Thirty-five million people without any health plan or insurance would not benefit by any of the proposed laws.
Your closing sentence, “The status quo is intolerable,” hit the nail squarely on the head. Members of the nonpartisan organization of young and old Americans, the Gray Panthers, have advocated a national health-care system since 1977.
The Gray Panthers support Rep. Ronald Dellums’ (D-Berkeley) Health Service Act. The plan would cover everyone.
