Gerald J. Garner, chairman and chief executive officer of American Commerce National Bank, has been named to the additional post of president. He succeeds William Kavanagh, who held the position for two years and is now executive vice president and chief loan officer. In a statement, Galal S. Gough, vice chairman, said the directors believe that the “consolidation of authority in one person should help the bank as it prepares for the ‘90s.” The Anaheim-based bank also increased its management team from four to six members. The new members are Daniel Garner, who was named executive vice president, and Laura Mantoani, who was named vice president/cashier. Garner was previously business development officer and Mantoani was vice president, operations. In addition, Robert Duncan, previously senior vice president/cashier, was named executive vice president and chief financial officer. The other members of the management team are Garner, Kavanagh and Robert Young, who continues as senior vice president and credit administrator.
