MOSCOW —
The Soviet Union has issued a postage stamp commemorating the signing of the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty at the Washington summit, the Soviet news agency Tass said Friday.
The U.S. and Soviet flags are in the upper part of the stamp. Separating the flags is a palm branch against the background of a globe.
At the center of the stamp are the words: “The treaty on eliminating Soviet and American intermediate- and shorter-range missiles is the first step toward a nuclear-free world.”
