A No Vote for Tipper

Share

I’m sorry to disagree, Rocky Leplin, but I’m really getting tired of people like Tipper Gore dictating to kids what they should or should not listen to (Calendar Letters, Dec. 13).

You say that “all she asked is that the recording industry provide a rating system so that parents are able to screen senseless and tasteless garbage out of their children’s lives.”

But when the Dead Kennedys put a warning on their record, Tipper nitpicked that it was “not good enough, gentlemen,” and applauded the charges against lead singer Jello Biafra.

Now Tipper’s apologetic about the record-rating hearings because her reputation is hurting her husband’s presidential campaign. She should have realized that many rock ‘n’ roll fans are registered voters before she initiated her record rating campaign, the fool!

Face it, Rocky, she really brought a lot of these criticisms upon herself. Albert Gore is not getting my vote. A presidential candidate with such warped priorities does not deserve the support of America’s registered voters. I hope the next generation’s would-be presidents and first ladies won’t make such a stupid mistake.
