Gunde Swan of Sweden pushed through driving rain and soft snow to win a 15-kilometer ski race at Davos, Switzerland, and take the lead in the season’s World Cup cross-country standings after three events.
Swan, who finished second behind teammate Torgny Mogren in the winter’s two previous races, posted a winning time of 43 minutes 4.7 seconds, nearly 13 seconds ahead of Norway’s Pal Mikkelsplass. Jan Ottoson of Sweden was third, 25 seconds behind Swan.
