The Federal Trade Commission and an Arizona court have halted the nationwide telephone sales of allegedly original artworks by Salvador Dali by an Arizona company. The U. S. District Court for Arizona ordered a halt to the sales misrepresentation, froze the assets and directed a receiver to take over the operations of Federal Sterling Galleries Inc., of Scottsdale, the commission said. The order also covers Churchill Gallery of Miami, through which Federal Sterling also does business, the FTC said.
