A producer hired by the city of Philadelphia to make a TV documentary on the city’s Constitution bicentennial celebration never completed the project or even contacted prominent people he had planned to interview, the Philadelphia Daily News reported in Wednesday’s editions. The $150,000 television program was scheduled to air this month, but producer Reginald Bryant says the film won’t be ready before June. Three city councilmen and officials working for Mayor W. Wilson Goode helped to secure the grant, the newspaper reported, but they did not know that Bryant’s application for funds named a co-sponsoring organization that denied any involvement in the project. Bryant said he has spent $10,000 of the $150,000 grant, all for research. He does not expect to make a profit, he added.
