A lawsuit filed against sports agents Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom has been settled with an agreement the two will not sign eligible Big Ten Conference athletes without notifying the conference and the school involved.

Bloom, whose dealings are being investigated by a federal grand jury, said the agreement was “meaningless” because he no longer represents athletes, concentrating instead on representing Hollywood entertainers.

The Atlanta Constitution, quoting unnamed sources, said that documents will reveal that Walters once paid for a New York trip for the mother and sister of running back Lorenzo White of Michigan State.

The Constitution said the NCAA cleared White of wrongdoing in that incident because he did not make the trip, did not accept money and did not sign a contract with the agents. White will play in the Jan. 1 Rose Bowl against USC.
