Japanese auto makers faced shrinking overseas demand in November, with exports falling 6.4% to 483,254 units from year-earlier levels, according to the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. It was the 10th consecutive month in which Japanese exports shrank from 1986 levels. JAMA said slower U.S. auto sales, a consequence of the stock market crash, also hurt Japanese auto sales, which already were being squeezed by the strong yen.
