UC Irvine Swimmers Have Strong Outings

Matt Wright, Eric Ro and Brian Judd each won two events as UC Irvine's swim team defeated Fresno State, 114-96, Sunday at Heritage Park.

Wright won the 50-meter freestyle (21.81 seconds) and 100-meter freestyle (47.78). Ro won the 200-meter individual medley (2:03.50) and 200-meter breaststroke (2:15.22). Judd won the 500-meter freestyle (4:48.65) and 1,000-meter freestyle (9:55.52).

Irvine diver Tom Jordan finished first on the one-meter and three-meter boards.

The men's team improved its record to 3-2.

The Irvine women (4-1) defeated Fresno State, 67-44, but lost to Northern Arizona, 57-56 in a dual meet.

Lisa Williams and Shannon Endsley each won two events. Williams won the 500-meter freestyle (5:19.31) and 1,000-meter freestyle (11:03.01). Endsley won the 50-meter freestyle (25.87) and 100-meter freestyle (56.15).
