Omar Moore and Wendy Ellen Cochran used their artists-in-residence grant from the California Arts Council this year to offer multicultural music and dance to about 360 children in the Encanto Elementary School.

Some of the children performed the Afro-Caribbean, Latin and jazz forms they assimilated in holiday performances at the Martin Luther King Jr. and the Encanto recreation centers. The children will give their final performances at the Encanto Elementary School Auditorium on Jan. 12 and 13.

The public is invited to these free performances (at 9:15 a.m., 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Tuesday and at 10 a.m., 10:45 a.m. ,and 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. A reception will follow the last performance Wednesday.
