A rabbi who serves in Israel’s Parliament (the Knesset) received the 10th in a series of letter bombs mailed from Turkey, but he spotted the suspicious envelope and called police, who safely removed the bomb. Rabbi Menachem Porush, who represents the religious Agudat Israel party, said that he received the letter from Turkey in his office mail and recognized it from media pictures of other envelopes containing letter bombs. Two people were slightly injured when one exploded on Dec. 30, but all the others were safely intercepted. Police have said that terrorists apparently chose names from the Jerusalem telephone book to determine who received the letter bombs.
