Rebels Say They Killed 110 Moroccan Soldiers

ALGIERS, Algeria —
Polisario guerrillas fighting Morocco for control of Western Sahara said Wednesday that they killed 110 Moroccan soldiers in desert operations last month.
A Polisario communique distributed through Algeria’s official news agency APS said 11 Moroccan soldiers were taken prisoner and 52 vehicles were destroyed.
In a previous communique, the rebels said they had killed 93 Moroccan soldiers, wounded 150 and captured 11 during a single operation Dec. 30.
