--Celebrity canines have something to bow-wow about, if the life styles of a few of the rich and fur-mous are any indication. Indeed, there is no place like the home for six Dalmatians owned by exercise guru Richard Simmons, who bought the house next door to his, had it torn down and erected a 10,000-square-foot run for his pampered pooches, who have their own full-time attendant. The fur, however, has been known to fly on occasion in this blissful setting--the six must take turns for the privilege of sleeping on Simmons’ bed each night. There’s nothing glamorous about the roots of film producer David Wolper’s cat Willie, who was rescued from the animal shelter. But now the feline lounges amid a priceless collection of artwork at Wolper’s Bel-Air home. And a few strays have been known to make the day for Clint Eastwood, who feeds the homeless mutts who turn up on the lot at his Burbank studio.

--Nancy Reagan may have turned a few heads with her penchant for red, but her hairdo is entirely declasse, says a group of hair stylists who snipped at prominent women they said were “obviously all victims of having been locked in a time warp.” Sharing top space with the First Lady on the list of outdated hairdos, compiled by 35 stylists at Raymond and Nasser Beauty Center on Madison Avenue in New York City, were Ivana Trump, wife of millionaire developer Donald Trump, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Jacqueline Onassis, and actresses Joan Collins, Julie Andrews, Ellen Burstyn and Linda Evans. Of Nancy Reagan, the salon said: “During all seven years as First Lady, Nancy has clung loyally to the same hairdo.” As for Ivana Trump: “While Ivana proved her loyalty to a version of the 25-year-old beehive, Joan Collins is said to clamp on a parade of frozen wig styles, never changing a single spit curl,” the salon said.

--It was “Romeo and Juliet” all over again, only the thwarted lovers were gray of hair and long of tooth, and their fate doesn’t look so gloomy after all. For when the family of 77-year-old DeGiuseppa Sandurra forbade her to marry 90-year-old Alfio Fiamma, she simply ran away from home, moving in to his house in the village of Lentini in Sicily. The future bride and groom met through a matchmaker and plan to marry next week. They have invited their 10 disapproving children “but don’t expect too much to eat because the doctors have put us on a diet,” Fiamma said.
