Vicki H. Swain has been named vice president, sales and marketing for the Institute for Biological Research and Development, and Lynda G. Gray was appointed vice president, clinical research. Both are new positions for the Newport Beach-based clinical research management company, which provides services for new product approval to the pharmaceutical and medical-device industries. Swain joined the institute from Lever Bros., where she was Western region sales manager in Los Angeles. Gray, a physician, had been practicing emergency medicine at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach.
