Boating Holiday
In 1980 we were in the Los Angeles area and read a reader recommendation in Travel Tips suggesting Lough Erne for a great Irish boating holiday. We followed up and went back three times. The area is fascinating, beautiful, peaceful and placid, blessed with much antiquity, and with good beaches and anchorage.
Cruiser rates are still moderate--a lot less expensive than hotels. Lakeland Marina is still managed by Commander and Mrs. Trevor Clayton (address: Kesh, County Fermanagh, Ireland). They do a fine job of mapping out cruises, provisioning and other assisting. Thanks for the tip. It was one that provided us with many happy memories.
