3 More Filipino Candidates Slain

MANILA —
The military today reported the killings of three more candidates in next week’s regional elections, and officials postponed voting in five more provinces because of violence.
The deaths brought to at least 30 the number of candidates slain since the campaigning began in December. Elections have been postponed in 10 provinces. Military officials identified the latest victims of election-related violence as mayoralty candidates Pepito Silang and Benjamin Cuaresma Jr. and Town Council candidate Alfredo Jaraba.
