Japanese Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita arrived today for his first meeting with President Reagan since taking office in November.

Takeshita and his wife, Naoko, landed in their chartered Japan Air Lines DC-10 jetliner at Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland and were flown by helicopter to an official arrival ceremony at the Reflecting Pool, between the Washington and Lincoln memorials. The prime minister was greeted by Secretary of State George P. Shultz. Neither official made remarks at the ceremony, and Takeshita planned no public appearances until his meeting with Reagan Wednesday.
