Plastic Guns

Ban plastic guns? What a farce! (“Terrorist Special: a Mindless Idea,” Editorial, Jan. 3). The notion that you can ban an inanimate object and go on your merry way thinking the world is a better place is ridiculous!

Do you believe that a person or persons willing to hijack an airplane, exterminate all human life on board, and take their own life will care one way or the other if this country banned plastic guns?

Sens. Howard Metzenbaum (D-Ohio) and Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) would do their constituencies a far greater service if they turned their attention to making an example of the kind of scum that perpetrates these crimes.
