Opera Pacific has received a $150,000 matching grant, to be given over a 2-year period, from the James Irvine Foundation, company officials announced.
The unrestricted grant will match new individual and corporate funds raised by the Irvine-based opera company on a two-for-one basis.
The Irvine Symphony has canceled its Jan. 23 “Almost Mozart” concert at the South Coast Community Church due to lack of ticket sales. The next Irvine Symphony event will be a recital by violinist Sidney Weiss and pianist Jean Weiss on Feb. 1 at the church in Irvine. For further information, call (714) 261-0231.
