WINNIPEG, Canada — President Pat Haney of Metropol Security, the firm responsible for security at Winnipeg International Airport, has apologized to a couple whose baby girl was pushed through an airport luggage X-ray machine last week.
Bruce and Susan Sakakeep said that their daughter, Anna, bundled inside a traditional North American Indian native carrying bag, was put through the machine as the family prepared to board a flight for Toronto.
Haney said he sent a letter to the Sakakeeps, saying that the incident was regrettable and offering to pay any reasonable costs.
The couple took Anna to Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children to ensure she had not been harmed.
