Trusthouse Forte’s profit increased 33% to $324 million for fiscal 1987. The British hotel and catering group said improved results reflected strong growth in both existing and new business outlets, especially in its British hotels and all of its catering businesses. In the United States, the company’s holdings include the Plaza Athenee and Westbury hotels in New York, the Palace Hotel in Philadelphia and 500 TraveLodges. Revenue rose 20% to $3.2 billion.
