Diceon Electronics reported net income of $3.1 million in the first quarter ended Jan. 2, an 80% increase from the $1.7 million posted a year ago. Net sales for the Irvine-based manufacturer of multilayer circuit boards and back panels increased 49%, to $34 million compared to $22.8 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1987. Financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 1987 have been restated to include the results of Symtron Corp., which was acquired in May, 1987. The company said the improved results of 1988’s first quarter resulted from a strong domestic computer industry, combined with a continuing high-technology market focus.
