$3 Million Missing From Truck
About $3 million was reported missing from an armored truck in what Los Angeles police today said appeared to be an inside job.
The cash had been loaded inside the truck at the gated headquarters of Armored Transport of California Inc. about an hour before the truck departed for a downtown Security Pacific Bank, employees of the firm said. But the driver and a passenger guard told police late Tuesday that the money was missing when they arrived at the bank. “Let’s face it,” Detective Sgt. Richard Kalk said. “We’re strongly looking at it as an internal theft.”
