CBS officials said Wednesday they have yet to take any steps to replace Jimmy (the Greek) Snyder, who was fired from his post with the network’s sports department following remarks late last week during a TV interview. “There has been no discussion of replacing him” was the network’s response to questioning. The spokesman insisted that CBS’ inaction in filling the vacated position has not been influenced by Snyder’s suggestions that he may take legal action against the network for his dismissal. Snyder outraged many civil rights leaders and others on Friday when he suggested blacks were bred for size and strength during pre-Civil War days.
