Occidental Petroleum Corp. Chairman Armand Hammer denied that he has any interest in acquiring Texaco Inc. But he added that the Los Angles firm might discuss acquiring Texaco’s Canadian operations if they are for sale. “I’m not interested in anything but a friendly merger with anybody,” he said. New York financier Carl C. Icahn, Texaco’s largest shareholder, has testified that he had two meetings with Occidental officials to discuss the possible sale of Texaco’s Canadian unit.
