Wayne Airport Passenger Traffic Up in November While Flights Decline
Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport in November, 1987, leapt 6.8% over that of the same month a year earlier, while the total number of aircraft takeoffs and landings decreased 4%, the airport announced.
Passenger volume in November, 1987, was 346,561, compared to 324,402 in November, 1986. The total number of aircraft takeoffs and landings was 42,770, down from 44,536 in November, 1986.
General aviation activity, which accounted for 84% of airport operations in November, 1987, declined 6.1% compared to November, 1986. The number of private plane takeoffs and landings was 35,749, compared to 38,087 a year earlier.
