G. Robert Thompson, executive vice president of 20th Century Insurance, will retire Feb. 1. Thompson, who joined the Woodland Hills-based insurer in 1974 as an administrative manager, heads the company’s financial, administrative, actuarial and audit operations. He formerly worked for the Pacific Fire Rating Bureau, Great American Insurance and Allstate Insurance, which is now a unit of Sears, Roebuck & Co.
David Krar Hutton has been named chief executive of Terminal Data, a Simi Valley maker of equipment that transfers documents to microfilm and disks.
Krar Hutton replaces Michael Rothbart, who said he will remain chairman of the company and devote more time to planning. The company is scheduled to move to Moorpark in April.
Krar Hutton, whose appointment is effective Feb. 1, was previously an executive with NCR, most recently as general manager of the financial systems division of an NCR engineering and manufacturing operation in Ontario, Canada.
Jeffrey M. Wernick was promoted to senior vice president of legal and business affairs for DIC Enterprises, a Burbank animation company.
Wernick had been DIC’s vice president of legal and business affairs.
Pamela S. Stark was named corporate vice president of Environmental Industries, a Calabasas-based outdoor landscaping company. Stark, 36, formerly was vice president and branch manager of the company’s Palm Springs office. She joined Environmental Industries in 1975.
Dataproducts Corp. named Joseph A. Menniti as vice president and general manager of its government / military unit in Wallingford, Conn.
Dataproducts, a Woodland Hills-based maker of computer printers and communications equipment, said Menniti previously spent 28 years at Grumman Corp., most recently as director of communication systems and programs for Grumman’s electronics systems division.
American Ecology named Scott Bowen as group executive.
The Calabasas company, which operates facilities for disposing of hazardous waste, said Bowen would be in charge of waste services for its U.S. Ecology Environmental and Detox subsidiaries.
