U.S. in Red $80.4 Billion

WASHINGTON —
U.S. government spending exceeded revenues by $23.9 billion in December, the Treasury said today, bringing to $80.4 billion the budget deficit in the first three months of the 1988 fiscal spending year. Government receipts last month totaled $85.5 billion while outlays hit $109.4 billion.
