Local News in Brief : Garden Grove : Council Meetings to Be Broadcast on Cable TV
City Council meetings will be broadcast live for the next two months on a trial basis, Garden Grove Cable Television Corp. has decided.
Mike Fenderson, assistant city manager and assistant executive officer of the corporation, said the Monday night meetings will be broadcast beginning next week via Channel 3A of Rogers Cable TV. The broadcasts will begin at 7:30 p.m., Fenderson said.
Because Feb. 15 is a federal holiday, the council meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16, and will be carried on the cable channel. There will be no broadcast on Feb. 29.
Fenderson said viewers will be asked to call in their comments about the broadcasts during the trial coverage of eight meetings ending March 28. The television corporation board will meet in April to decide whether to make the broadcast permanent, he said.
