Three Americans kidnaped a 7-year-old girl, apparently caught up in a family dispute, from her school bus in Jordan, relatives said Friday.
They said the Americans, two men and a woman, climbed onto the bus in the town of Jerash, north of Amman, while it was picking up children early Thursday morning.
"One of the men held the driver and the other two grabbed the little girl. When a woman teacher tried to stop them, the woman hit her," the girl's uncle said.
He said the father of the girl, named Lauren Mohammed Ali Bayyan, is a Jordanian married to an American named Kathy Mahoon.
The family had lived in Dallas until the father returned to Jordan with the child four months ago, he said.
