Local News in Brief : South County : Commission Approves Foothill Ranch Accord
The county Planning Commission Tuesday unanimously approved a developer agreement for the Foothill Ranch planned community, the second-largest scheduled contributor to the county’s plan for a new, developer-financed road system.
Under the agreement, the county will freeze the current zoning laws for the project, guaranteeing the developer’s plans to build about 3,900 homes. In return, Foothill Ranch, previously known as the Whiting Ranch, will contribute about $40 million to the Foothill Circulation Phasing Plan, a five-year program of road improvements in the south county.
