The West German news magazine Der Spiegel said that Yugoslavia has found the document linking Austrian President Kurt Waldheim to Nazi deportations. Der Spiegel, which recently published a purported copy of the document, quoted an “authoritative senior Yugoslav functionary” as saying the original had been found and there was no doubt it was genuine. However, Yugoslavia’s deputy information minister, Dragan Ivanovic, said in Belgrade: “To my knowledge no such comment has been made. If some functionary has made the statement, I doubt very much he was speaking in an official capacity . . . .”
