Calvin Allen, a 30-year employee of Owl Cos., has been named to the new position of president of Owl Rock Products, a subsidiary. He had been executive vice president. The Owl Cos., headquartered in Newport Beach and Arcadia, is one of Southern California’s largest asphalt and gravel makers. Other operations include heavy engineering construction for the military; an energy division that develops small power plants and cogeneration facilities for industrial users, and a joint-venture, Global Associates, an operations, maintenance and logistical support contractor for the military. The company’s real estate development activities include commercial and industrial properties, and landholdings in Southern California.
