A move sometime this spring, probably in April, will more than double the capacity of the Cafe Lido, a 6-year-old club at 2900 Newport Blvd. in Newport Beach that offers live jazz by local groups seven nights a week. The club’s new home at 501 39th St. will be big enough for about 200 people, according to manager Fred Kroeger, who said there are no plans to slant the booking policy to bigger name, touring acts.

Guitarist Kurt Schuster of Santa Ana will give five performances of Antonio Lauro’s Guitar Concerto today through Monday in Toluca and Mexico City, Mexico, with the Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico led by Edmundo Diaz del Campo. Schuster and Diaz del Campo will repeat the performance in Irvine in May; dates and other details will be announced.

Schuster, 34, has been an Orange County resident for 13 years. Diaz del Campo is a former assistant conductor and education coordinator for the Santa Ana-based Pacific Symphony. He now is principal guest conductor with the Mexican state orchestra, and artistic administrator with the San Diego Symphony.
