In 1986, according to the California Restaurants Association, Orange County’s 2,193,614 residents wined and dined in 4,850 established restaurants to the tune of $1.8 billion, compared to San Diego County’s 2,165,500 population with 4,327 restaurants netting $1.5 billion.
