Lakers Play Nuggets Tonight

Share

The Lakers, surprised Tuesday in the Forum by an Indiana Pacers team that had six straight road losses, try it the other way around here tonight at 6:30, meeting the Denver Nuggets, winners of five in a row. The Nuggets have an 18-3 record in McNichols Arena, including a 115-113 victory over the Lakers on Jan. 21.

Jay Vincent came off the Denver bench in that game to score a team-high 23 points with 12 rebounds.

The Nuggets trail the Dallas Mavericks by two games in the Midwest Division, and the Nuggets are coming on. They were 4-3 when Coach Doug Moe made 5-foot 10-inch Michael Adams a starting guard--Moe had hoped to draft 5-3 Tyrone (Muggsy) Bogues but never got the chance--and they are 23-14 since. Adams has hit 9 of his last 17 three-point tries.

Coach Pat Riley, who missed the Pacer loss attending the funeral of his brother, rejoined the Lakers Wednesday.
