An additional 7,200 Ford motor workers in Belgium will be laid off and production of the Sierra model stopped next Monday as a result of the Ford strike in Britain. A spokesman for the Genk plant in eastern Belgium said the new steps had been forced by a shortage of body panels supplied from Ford in Britain. The Genk plant, which employs 11,000 people, laid off 2,500 workers last Tuesday as a due to the dispute in Britain and suspended production of Ford Transit delivery vans.
