Britain plans to tighten its insider trading law to stop suspects from seeking refuge in other countries. An amendment to the criminal justice bill before Parliament would make crimes related to insider trading extraditable. “It is vitally important for the U.K. to face as few barriers as possible to extraditing those accused or convicted of insider dealing offenses,” Home Office Minister John Patten said. Insider trading is the misuse of confidential information to profit in securities transactions.
