Financial Aid for Student Meals Offered

Free and reduced-price meals will be made available to children in the South Bay Union High School District who are unable to pay the full price of meals served under the National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast Programs.

Children from households with incomes at or below the following levels may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals.

One-member household, annual income $10,175; two-member, $13,690; three-member, $17,205; four-member, $20,720; five-member, $24,235; six-member, $27,750; seven-member, $31,265; eight-member, $34,780.

A one-member household means a pupil who is his or her sole support. Institutionalized children are always one-member households. Foster children are one-member households only if the welfare or placement agency maintains legal responsibility for the child.

A household means a group of related or unrelated individuals who are living as one economic unit and sharing living expenses.

A copy of the new district policy is available for review at the district’s central office, 200 N. Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach. Each school in the district, which includes Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach, also has a copy of the policy which may be reviewed by any interested party.
