Share

The birthday of George Washington, first President of the United States, will be celebrated officially on Monday. Since 1971, the holiday has been set by Congress for the third Monday in February, rather than on Feb. 22, the date formerly recognized as Washington’s birthday.

Closed: Most city, county, state and federal government offices, schools, libraries, courts and post offices. Stock exchanges, most banks and many private businesses.

Open: The Los Angeles County Law Library and some private businesses.
