A San Francisco deejay who jokingly told listeners to dial “D-I-V-O-R-C-E” on Valentine’s Day was apologetic Sunday when informed the letters translated into the telephone number of a less-than-enchanted Oakland law firm. Jaque Skarr on the San Francisco station KYUU-FM has been advising listeners to dial the number every Valentine’s Day for the last four years. The number was assigned to the Oakland firm Caldecott, Phillips and Hale earlier this year. “I just did it as a joke. I run it every Valentine’s Day,” Skarr said, adding that she would call the attorneys and apologize. The lawyers were not amused, but said no legal action would result from the spoof.
