Lotto Player in Port Hueneme Picks Six--and Picks Up a Hefty $9.4 Million

Someone who bought a “Lotto 6/49” ticket in Port Hueneme won the $9.4 million jackpot in the weekend game, the California Lottery announced Sunday.

The ticket with all six correct numbers is worth $9,436,707 and was purchased in the Ventura County community at Allan’s Wine and Spirit Shop on Ventura Road.

Names of winners are not known until tickets are turned in at a California Lottery office. State offices will not be open until Tuesday because of the President’s Day holiday.

There were 11 tickets with five regular numbers plus the bonus and each wins $135,897. They were purchased in Riverside, North Hollywood, Moreno Valley, Ventura, Rosemead, Covina, Harbor City, Montrose, Fresno, San Mateo and San Jose.

There were 235 tickets with five numbers, each worth $3,277, and 12,766 tickets with four numbers, each paying $54. There were 227,169 tickets with three numbers, each winning the fixed $5.

Sales for the weekend game totaled $14,003,534. Prizes awarded amounted to $13,527,418.

Lottery officials said that Wednesday’s game probably will have a jackpot of about $4 million.
