PerfectData Narrows Loss for 3rd Quarter

PerfectData lost $29,000, or 1 cent a share, in the third quarter ended Dec. 31, contrasted with a loss of $152,000, or 5 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales fell 16%, to $949,000.

For the nine months, the company lost $222,000, or 7 cents a share, less than the loss of $615,000, or 19 cents a share, of a year earlier. Sales were off 8%, to $2.9 million.

The company said its sales fell in both periods because, in March, it stopped selling some equipment for Polaroid. PerfectData, which makes computer care products, moved its headquarters from Chatsworth to Simi Valley in November.
