A debate over U.S. involvement in the Central American peace plan will be held today at UC Irvine.

Focusing on the Arias peace plan, Tomas de la Ossa, a senior Costa Rican government official, and Raoul Silva, a former aide to Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove), will debate and discuss the future of Central America.

Other issues to be discussed include how Nicaragua and other Central American countries will be affected by Congress’ rejection of further aid to the Contra rebels.
